On February 8, authorities in Haldwani, Uttarakhand demolished an illegally built madrasa and underground mosque structure on government land in Banbhulpura area.

The demolition was carried out based on court orders. Officials said the structures were built on Nazool land.

Angry locals reacted violently to the demolition, pelting stones at police and officials. They put up barricades, torched vehicles, and vandalized public property.
