Officials reported that the single-engine aircraft, which had taken off from J.F. crashed on its way to neighboring St Lucia on Thursday afternoon. Among the dead were Christian Oliver’s daughters, Annik, age 10, and Madita, age 12.
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said in a statement given to media outlets that “shortly after takeoff, the aircraft experienced difficulties and nose-dived into the ocean.” “Paget Farm fishermen and divers responded to the incident by bringing their boats to the scene to help.”
According to the officials, all four bodies have been found.
There are still investigations underway to find out what caused the crash. Reports from the area state that soon after takeoff, the pilot radioed the tower to say he was having trouble and would be returning. TThis marked the final communication from the aircraft.
Christian Oliver had recently wrapped up filming the last scenes for his most recent film, Forever Hold Your Peace, which was co-directed by Nick Lyon and starred Bai Ling.
On the last day of shooting, Lyon paid tribute to Oliver on Instagram, writing, “This is our fifth film together. This is the last day that @christianoliverofficial and I are filming! We produced this one! After years of discussion, we decided to work together to produce a movie! @christianoliverofficial, thank you for being such a wonderful friend, coworker, and actor. #foreverholdyourpeace.”
He posted a tribute to the late actor on Instagram on Saturday, stating, “My friend @christianoliverofficial, rest in peace.”
